DELEGATE RESOURCES

// COMPANIES & CAUSES

Companies & Causes is the Opportunity Collaboration’s platform for sharing resources. In a structured, but relaxed, evening of presentations, Delegates publicize organizational opportunities and specific requirements needed to scale their institutions. Delegates with resources (consultants, grant makers, investors, philanthropists, field experts and others) describe how they can help. To learn more about Delegate outcomes, see For Prospective Delegates.

Whether a nascent idea or investment-ready, from new board members to strategic alliances, from consultants to collaborative partners, ecosystems of opportunities for greater impact in the campaign against poverty are presented. Delegates in the same ecosystem, as a group, highlight how their field is collectively progressing as well as how their individual organizations are catalyzing change.

Prior to the Opportunity Collaboration, in September a conference call is scheduled among Delegates in the same ecosystem to allow for coordination of a joint presentation. By awarding additional stage time to Delegates who do a group presentation, Delegates are encouraged to discover and highlight collaborative opportunities. Delegates may also focus exclusively on their own opportunity in a one-minute “elevator pitch.”

Companies and Causes include a broad range of poverty-alleviation actors: investors, grant-makers, for-profit social enterprises and non-profits. Every Delegate is invited to participate on a first-come, first-served basis.

To reserve a presentation, on or before August 30, 2010, summarize your resource needs or investment/grantmaking goals in 100 words or less in an email to: Topher Wilkins, COO, Opportunity Collaboration (Email: twilkins@opportunitycollaboration.net).

Companies & Causes will be moderated by Delegate Paul Herman, founding Chief Executive Officer, HIP Investor: Human Impact & Profit, and author, The HIP Investor: Make Bigger Profits by Building a Better World. Presentations are thematically organized and occur on separate evenings after dinner.
